Our story
TripPlanning.org started in 2021 as a travel-information website, with destination-by-destination guides covering practical topics such as power plugs, voltage, frequency and adapter needs.
Today, TripPlanning.org includes power and adapter references, live cams, travel-safety information, events, travel tools and practical trip-planning guides. Our goal remains simple: help travelers check useful details quickly and plan with more context.
Power plugs and adapter guides
Our core database covers outlets, plug types, voltage and frequency by destination, along with practical traveler guidance on what adapter or converter may be needed.
Live cams
Live Cams are now one of the main TripPlanning.org features. These pages are designed to help travelers see what a destination looks like right now before a trip. We may embed publicly available third-party live streams, including YouTube-based streams, when they are relevant to a destination page.
Travel-planning tools and guides
In addition to power and live-view pages, TripPlanning.org may publish destination tools and guides such as travel-safety updates, currency references, weather and time tools, events, travel tips and related planning content.
How we research and use AI
TripPlanning.org uses a combination of public sources, manual review and AI-assisted tools to help research, organize, classify and maintain a growing amount of travel information. AI helps us work through large collections more efficiently, but it can make mistakes and it does not make changing third-party information permanently accurate.
- We try to keep pages useful, practical and easy to scan.
- We use public and third-party reference sources when appropriate and may summarize information for travelers.
- We review and improve pages over time, but information can become outdated between reviews.
- Live streams are especially changeable: a camera that was live when added may later go offline, become private, switch to a recording, move to a new stream or be discontinued.
