This camera looks out from the Hongludi hillside area in Zhonghe, above the dense urban districts of Greater Taipei. Its elevation makes it a useful real-time check of basin visibility, evening lights and whether low cloud or haze is obscuring the city.
New Taipei City Travel places Hongludi on Nanshijiao Mountain at roughly 300 meters above sea level and describes it as a broad Greater Taipei viewpoint associated with the Earth God temple. The surrounding hill paths and overlook are especially known for city and night views.
